Ngwathe SMME Expo

The SMME Expo formed the Entrepreneurship and Economic Development pillar of the Ngwathe Easter Experience 2026 and provided a platform for small businesses,
entrepreneurs, government institutions, financial institutions and development agencies to engage, learn and explore opportunities for growth.

Hosted on 02 April 2026 at the Master Nakedi Sports Centre in Tumahole, the Expo brought together a diverse range of stakeholders committed to supporting enterprise
development, economic participation and local business growth.
The programme was designed to create meaningful engagement between
entrepreneurs and institutions that provide funding, training, market access and business support services. It further created opportunities for local businesses to showcase their products and services while building valuable networks with potential partners and
customers.

Purpose.
The 'Why'

The SMME Expo was implemented to strengthen entrepreneurship and economic
participation within Ngwathe and surrounding communities.
The programme sought to:
• Promote entrepreneurship and innovation
• Support the growth of local businesses
• Improve access to business development information
• Facilitate networking between entrepreneurs and stakeholders
• Create awareness of funding and support opportunities
• Encourage youth and women participation in business
• Promote local economic development
• Strengthen collaboration between government and the business community
Through these objectives, the Expo contributed towards creating a more informed, connected and empowered entrepreneurial ecosystem.
